Where technology meets the human heart – that’s where you’ll find Tal Horowitz. For over four decades, Tal has stood at the forefront of computing architecture, AI accelerators, and system design.
Currently serving as CTO of Computing Architecture and Artificial Intelligence at Huawei Technologies, Tal has spent his career building the very systems that increasingly shape our daily lives. His journey spans from pioneering roles at Intel Corporation—where he co-founded the Centrino Wireless LAN Product Group and won innovation excellence awards—to founding multiple successful startups including YourMove, a gamification platform used by over 40 global enterprises including Microsoft, HP, and Coca-Cola.
This insider perspective on AI development and technology culture drives his fiction, where he examines the darker implications of our digital dependence. His debut thriller, Echo Chamber, draws on his deep understanding of how technological progress can reshape human behavior in ways creators never intended, exploring the haunting question that keeps every responsible technologist awake at night: In our rush to build smarter systems, are we building a world we can still control?
Tal’s published research on computer architecture and his work developing high-performance machine learning processors for both inference and training reflect decades of hands-on experience with the technologies that power our increasingly connected world. Leading global R&D teams across the US, China, and Israel, he has seen how advanced AI systems can manipulate human behavior and society—knowledge gained from years of building the very systems he now explores critically through his storytelling.
